Week 5 – Jan 7 2016

Salaams mums.

Here’s what we were up to on the 7th of Jan.

We had just passed the week of Miladun Nabi and we spent the day discussing the Prophet, learning about his Akhlaq and reading about his life.

Quran

We revised the letter ‘baa’ and did an activity. We also revised the second ayah of Surah Ikhlaas.

Tareekh

In Tareekh we read a story about our Prophet Muhammad.

image

image

He is also the Last Prophet

image

He was born in Makkah on the 17th of Rabi ul Awwal

image

It was Aamul Feel, The Year of the Elephant.

image

The Prophet used to wear a green cloak.

image

Allah gave Prophet Muhammad the Qur'an.

image

Angel Jibrail used to recite the Qur'an to him.

image

Prophet Muhammad's daughter was Bibi Fatema.

image

He loved all children and would always play with them.

image

He always spoke the truth so he was called As-Sadiq.

image

I can visit his Zari in Masjidun Nabawi in Madina.

image

We followed that with an activity of making Masjidun Nabawi Birthday Cards for the Prophet’s birthday.

image

We gave mummies a piece of card folded in half. The children stuck tissue paper onto the inside of the card and then mummies cut out the dome and minaret from the card front and glued the card shut. Finally we decorated the top with crescents, stars and balloons.

Akhlaq

In Akhlaq we discussed how the Prophet was very polite and how he emphasized cleanliness.

We did two rhymes one with props and one with actions which will be posted subsequently.

Story of Imam Sajjad.

Imam Sajjad is the 4th Imam.

image

His father was Imam Hussain.

image

His mother was a beautiful princess called Bibi Sherbanu.

image

His name was Ali

image

He was 23 years old in Karbala.

image

He was sick on the day of Aashura.

image

After Aashura, the bad people put him chains.

image

Despite all the problems, he would always say 'alhamduLillah' and do lots of dua.

image

He also did lots of Sajdah which is why he was called Sajjad.

image

He used to help the poor people by giving them food.

He is buried in Jannatul Baqi, in Madina.

Then we did an activity making chains of paper clips.
